"A small business owner in northeast Denver said her liquor store has been broken into four times in the past month, and she thinks it’s because of a nearby hotel that’s been converted into a homeless shelter.
“There is a homeless encampment in our area that opened a month ago, and since then, crime in our area has increased,” Lori Lockett, owner of Lucky Loo’s Liquor, said on Thursday.
Lockett said in the past three years that she’s owned this store, they have had maybe one break-in a year. But since Dec. 30, her shop has been hit four times."
