So long as they have enough staff to cover the shift's, good for them. Well rested officers are better officers. However, Golden is right on the "drug trail" of CO (i-70) and has a LOT of problems despite being a fairly wealthy and "nice" town.

From the post: "More than four months after the Golden Police Department launched its pilot program testing a four-day, 32-hour workweek for all employees, preliminary data shows promising results related to productivity, morale and retention.

The pilot program, which started in July, reduced badged employees from four 10-hour shifts to four 8-hour shifts, and administrative employees from five 8-hour shifts to four. Corporal McKenzie Metzger, who has been with the department for four years, said she has noticed a major improvement in her own happiness and mental health and those of her coworkers."

Well, they have no duty to protect you anyway. That's why you always say "someone is trying to rob/murder me. Im going to fucking shoot them if you are not here in 1 minute".

They will find a way to get there and make sure you cannot execute your right to protect yourself or those that you care for.

"Emergency services" are reactionary. When seconds matter, they are.. at best. Minutes away.
