The Gay guy in charge of CO is pissed off that he could not trick CO residents into giving up the money they were over-taxed for so that he could claim its for property tax relief when you would have gotten ~$250 in relief but your TABOR refund would be ~$750+. They wanted to use this to fund schools, not give you property tax relief. It was bullshit before, it is bullshit now. Be on the lookout for them to rebrand this and try again.

From the post: "Two days after voters rejected Proposition HH, Gov. Jared Polis called a special session of the Colorado State Legislature. He says lawmakers need to produce a property tax relief plan before December -- when county accessors finalize tax bills -- or homeowners will face record increases.

To drive home the urgency of the situation, the governor donned safety glasses and took a bat to a glass case with a sign that read, "IN CASE OF NO PROP HH BREAK GLASS."

He pulled out a piece of paper and announced, "looks like a special session for property tax relief.""

You know, I always see people talk about taxes going higher and higher, but they never seem to actually say or ask why the taxes are higher, They just take it at face value that taxes are higher for nebulous reasons. I want to walk right up to one of these chuckle fucks on live camera and ask "Why are taxes higher, Mr. Dipship politician? Instead of using it as a slogan, why don't you fess up as to why taxes are actually higher. Maybe we should address the actual problems that raise our taxes to keep them low instead of printing more money which, hey what do you know, causes taxes to raise."

Of course, then I'd be tackled by security for daring to talk to the jew lords in such a tone and escorted out to the streets where I'd be thrown to a mob of communists.

Absolutely, In this case.. A lot of it is just general mismanagement of funds and bloated "Administrative" cost. You know that the majority of that money they wanted to steal for "schools"? yeah. Most of it is for pay raises for the administrators and has nothing to do with better schools, teacher pay, student assistance.. etc. Its just jackasses voting to pay themselves more.

The only "budget" crisis is that they have no fucking clue what they are doing with money. Or rather.. They actually are just as corrupt as we think they are and want to get paid more for doing less while the "public works" fall apart and citizens are taxed more than ever for less services than ever.

Oh, also... The reason that Property taxes went up by %40+ for some people is because people are fucking stupid and don't read what they are voting for. This is a direct result of voters repealing the Gallagher amendment. If it was not repealed then none of this shit would be happening right now.
