Is that not a good thing? People should be prepared for possible bad situations. They should also be taking a CC class, a basic emergency medical class...etc.

From the post: "COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Some Coloradans are more worried about their personal safety after the mass shooting in Lewiston Maine Wednesday night took the lives of 17 people.

More people have been calling and emailing about signing up for the CSPD Crime Prevention Unit's active shooter course, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said.

The Crime Prevention Unit is a team of four officers who teach several free classes on safety. One of those officers is M.J. Thomson, who has been a police officer for more than 20 years and has been teaching crime prevention courses for over seven years."

Maybe all this talk about banning guns is a good thing. It seems to be creating a whole lot more gun owners. Then, these people get training and figure out they enjoy shooting. As more people obtain guns, it starts to have a positive effect where the playing field is leveled. Liberals love to talk about a level playing field. Well, it's actually happening. Probably not the way they thought. I'm convinced, we need to level the playing field, everybody should carry.

This also allows us to defund the police, as their services are no longer required.

People fear guns because they have been brought up on the "guns are evil and if one is in your house it will kill you and everyone you love" bullshit.

That stupid fing news reporter that cried after shooting an AR-15.. Yeah, he probably actually did have a strange emotional fuck up in his head. He cried not because he was scared but because shooting a gun was nothing like what he was told or expected and all of a sudden his world view was shattered.

Lots of people are scared of tools or things they dont understand. Once they understand it.. They no longer fear it and realize that guns don't kill people.. People with (insert anything) kill people.

I've always had guns growing up. I've never seen them as problems. They are a tool, like a hammer and saw. It wasn't until I started noticing all these laws banning them that I gave guns any thought at all. You are correct, when you are exposed to something new, it's scary, at first. Later, it becomes natural. The gun control zellots are probably not considering this aspect. When I hear gun control, I think about controlling my gun, not eliminating it.

The only 'safety' against the criminal is being Armed and Knowing how to shoot without thinking (it needs to be an automatic reaction). That takes thousands of rounds to become normal when adrenaline has you fired up.
