And everyone that lives in the area is pissed.

From the post: "DENVER — The City of Denver broke ground this week on a micro-community for people experiencing homelessness.

The site is owned by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and located near South Santa Fe Drive and Iliff Avenue in Denver's Overland neighborhood. It will include 120 tiny homes, or pallet homes.

Micro-communities are a large part of Denver Mayor Mike Johnston's plan to get 1,000 unhoused individuals off the streets by end of the year."

Lol, years ago my brother had a buddy out by Johnstown. This was when the front range started to bloat in population. He had a nice plot of land on a corner, the only little farm house out there amongst the wheat and corn fields. One day across from him heavy equipment came in to prep the land for a new subdivision. As the project proceeded and a few showcase homes were built he put up a huge billboard on his corner that read, “FUTURE SITE OF LOW INCOME HOUSING”. It slowed the sales, but ultimately his peace and quiet country life was ruined forever.

What a fucking tragedy. If you own land like that.. It is in your best interest in trying to buy as much that surrounds you as possible or to get on a local counsel to make sure it cannot be re-zoned from agro use.

Even the areas I have traveled through in the overall metro area were once mostly just empty open space and now the blight of development is all over the place.

Greed man, it’s a helluva drug. Haven’t been up that way in a decade or better. Last time I was blown away at the growth. Made me sick. Read’n your posts on Colorado blows me away even more. Wtf is going on up there!
