They cost as much or more to "fuel" as a "ICE" car. They do not decrease pollution, just displace it (NIMBY). Their increased weight damages roads and bridges more and faster. They do not generate taxes as they do not use gas (You pay at least $.50/gal anywhere in the US for gas tax for road maintenance). A fender bender that should cost 1k now costs nearly 10k. A windshield replacement now requires specialized tools/training to calibrate all of the sensors (yeah, non-ev's have this problem now too).

Oh, and when the Grid is down.. You can't charge them.

I really do not see any pro's to buying a 60k+ EV other than to just gloat.

From the post: "Electric vehicle purchases in Colorado are soaring, with EV registrations in 2022 up by 822% since 2016. But some firefighters say they're going to need a lot more resources if these vehicles keep coming at that rate, because they still don't know the best ways to extinguish the flames if an electric vehicle catches fire.

Firefighters have had more than 100 years to perfect the art of putting out a fire involving a vehicle with a gas motor engine. But those traditional tactics don't work on electric vehicles because they use lithium ion batteries to run instead of gas. Lithium ion battery fires are more tricky to put out, sometimes reigniting several hours, days or even a week later. "

Just like the vaccine, EVs are safe and effective until they aren't.
