All you need to do to understand crime in the United States is Excel. Make a spreadsheet with 3 columns: city, % non-white population, crime rate. Fill that in for a dozen or more large cities. Run a regression analysis and find out the r-squared value for the relationship between non-white population and crime. I think you'll find that it's the most powerful predictor of crime, even more than economic status, wealth gaps, geography, or any other excuse liberals come up with.
