A little backstory to my faith. I used to be a devout non denomination Christian when i was younger but left the faith at 16 when it became clear obedience to the church was more important than obeying God's word. Much later, when I was roughly 26 I had my baby (now toddler.) When he was a baby I started realizing the need for the church. I was still salty at the Christian faith for being cucked to the jews so I went to go find a different type of church (spoiler alert, most of the churches I've visited are cucked by the jews so I had to settle)

I was thinking that associating with the mormon church would be a fun new interesting experience. Partially because it would be nice to be well connected in the mormon community because they might be a little more prepared for a disaster. I'm not a tithing member of a church and honestly i feel more like an imposter there than a mormon but they let me hang out anyways and Toddler is making a lot of cute little toddler friends. I do not let him out of my sight, I stay in the daycare

actual story:

I was in daycare at (Mormon) church watching my kid and his close buddy race before class (empty room, everyone else is still singing hymns), when his buddy's mom pops in and tells me in a shocked voice there's a new kid in the congregation whos a boy wearing a dress. She called it child abuse (which I agree with) and said if the boy comes in here we are leaving! (we are carpooling to church)

So class is about to start and the kids flood in, including the attention whore parents with the boy in a dress. My mom-friend's toddler and my toddler would not stop staring at the boy in a dress confused. So she grabbed her boy and said we are leaving. The nursery teacher looked confused that half her class left, so i gave her a hug and whispered why we were leaving and she nodded her head in understanding.

Since I'm not a tithing member of the church, I don't think it's wise for me to say anything, partially because I wasn't sure of the customs and if they already had a procedure to address this issue. We leave gracefully, but not after i talk to a different mom friend who thinks we should be loving and accepting to everyone. I told her I understood the need for some flexibility, and I appreciate them letting me attend without a mask (they encourage vaccines and mask use of course). She looked angry, frustrated, confused, and perplexed we would leave church because of a boy in a dress, and was slightly offended when I asked if their was a way the congregation or church would address this issue.

On our way back I told my friend that I was impressed by her balls to stand up for herself and how gracefully she did it. How we made a stink without being impolite. Later that day she texts me she regrets taking the situation too seriously (i think she's worried about the congregation judging her). I told her if following the word of God goes against the narrative of the crowd, then there's something wrong with the crowd, not you. (she hasn't replied because her and her husband have to work to pay rent)

TLDR:

The Mormon church is more interested in the number of people tithing to the church than they are interested in sending people away who are overtly trying to turn their kid into a faggot. Next Sunday, if the situation is interesting enough to share, I'll give you all an update. Being optimistic, maybe the church has methods for changing peoples minds on the subject so they stop wanting to turn their child into a faggot. We will see, but I will be finding a different church soon if they dont do something about it. (probably some standard Christian church)

I'm a recovering catholic and 2 of my priests were gay and one touched children. Also the head nun was a homo. So don't bother with that ideas either.

there corruption everywhere, I think alot of dysfunction is from ignorant parents who are dependent on the church who dont listen to their kids or teach the children how to respect their own body and boundaries. As an adult whos not committed to a church and doesnt leave my kid alone for any reason, I can cherry pick my way through any church that tolerates me. I would hope that if i uncovered that kind of corruption in a church, I would figure out how to report it.

Theres alot of dysfunction in the Catholic church, were you sexually abused to or what specifically messed you up about the church? If conditions were ideal, would Catholicism still have messed you up?

I'm really sorry to hear about the priests and the nun :( thats horrible, people who fondle children should be put down like a dog with rabies.

I was never touched. But I did have some solo bike rides with one of the Fathers and at the time I didn't think anything of it but I did wonder why he was wearing really short shorts. He had me over for a cookout but I thought it was weird because it was just me and him. I was 11. My favorite priest Father Joe got moved along but there was no indication that he was touching kids. I adored him, such a great person. Father Paulo came from the Philippines and would stand up in front of the congregation and for 45 minutes mumbled and talked incoherently about God only knows what. He single-handedly ruined Catholicism for me by making God boring. And this is before I knew about children being raped. I enjoy the prayers that Catholicism offers but I never really think much of men in dresses telling me how to worship God. I think that the community behind it is nice because generally Catholics are kind people at least to your face but then they more than likely whipped the heck out of their kids when they go home (I speak from experience). Hey don't take my word for it. I absolutely encourage you to go at least check out a mass or two with your family. See if you can find a high mass those are the ones where everything is sung. And those can be fun especially when people can really sing.
