He's pedigree, and one of the cutest things on four legs. While I proffer for people to adopt from a shelter, I understand the desire to have a pedigree dog. I like to tell myself that they come from responsible breeders. Responsible breeders are in charge of a very important job, and it's preserving the integrity of a breed.

Random Question: Is it okay for the government or private organization to mass breed dogs in a mill to use in their products and experiments? That is something allowed in the USA that I discovered working on a job. Not cool, do we really need breed dogs to a death sentence? People shit on china for eating dogs but the US is a little barbaric when it comes to dog culture, we just don't publicize (make a big deal about) how many dogs are put down or used in experiments every year. I mean, I'm sure China is worse but still.

Yep mostly beagles are bred for scientific torture albeit any animal will do. There are some "humane/anticruelty/welfare" animal organizations that actually sell animals to research facilities. Always always check into whether your local shelter euthanizes and or works with research facilities.

"No kill" doesn't always mean "never kill". It can mean whatever they want it to mean. I've seen animals killed in hours of being turned into a shelter...sorry, off my soapbox.

Purebred vs rescue/mix? I grew up around dogs, professional breeder, show dogs. Depends on what you want or what fits your life.

The gubmint breeding animals for abuse? They pay for abortions. They pay for trans surgeries and hormones and shit. They pay for pedophilia and child trafficking. Give it time, we'll be eating cats and dogs like the bug people.

FYI: Did you know in the northern areas of India they eat dog and cat?

given that they work so hard to keep the streets dog free, I wouldnt doubt some places get good pay selling dogs for research. In CA they force you to get your dog fixed before you can get your dog back from the pound if they picked it up. In a way, fixed dogs are good, but its not great they force you nearly by law to do it. I bet their gibelottes sell for more than i think. Beagles are popular because they are large with short legs so they save on space when your breeding them in bulk and need to store the product for later (puke).

(edit to add) i wasnt aware of Indians eating dog and cat, but if they're also the people who don't eat cow that would make sense. I wouldnt say eating dog is a deal breaker if your family needs to survive, but I'm probably not going to be friends with people who eat breeds of animals that are meant to be pets.
