Yesterday I learned about the appreciation quota talked about in the bible. I was born and raised Christian, but shunned it since i thought the church had fallen away from the teachings of Christ. Now that I'm older, I wouldnt quite call myself Christian but I have a new appreciation and understanding of Jesus's teaching, and perhaps what he was really trying to teach us all along.

Take in mind I'm the most flawed person I know, so I'm less giving instruction and sage advice as much as I'm passing on something I've heard that really resonated with me and I think can help anyone with personal development. You are welcome to debate or elaborate on the subject.

Last night I was talking with someone about the bible, I forget the verse he was talking about but he explained to me the Appreciation Quota. It is that, we all have a quota of feeling appreciated that needs to be filled. It's your biblical duty to let people know how much you appreciate them, partially because it would also feed your own soul to give or receive this blessing.

In theory, if there is someone you love dearly and interact with on a daily basis, it would help for you to make an actual checklist and express to the person (spouse, child, family, friend) how much you appreciate them (dont read them the checklist, the list is for you).

This blessing you should give and receive should also be done with strangers. If you get a chance while interacting with someone to let them know how much you appreciate them, do it. Did someone at their job help you with something? Perhaps say something like "thank you, i appreciate your time :)"

I'm not sure how it works if you live alone, but it's possible you can fill your own appreciation quota through yourself or giving yourself credit, even silently, for accomplishments even if they are routine like work and chores.

I meant to post this much earlier lol, more like BrunchHouse. Made the household some breakfast burritos with the help of Mr. Toddler

woa, I didnt know that. That's a cool observation! I read through the whole bible a long long time ago, but I dont remember that phrase so I think it's a term someone came up with during a bible study to make the lesson in the bible make more sense. It's cool to see people turning the bible into culture like that :)

(edit:) thank you for the insight, I appreciate you ;D
