I'm not in favor of arranging them on spec.
I do however, thing the parents should play a role in the "approval" process.
Think back to the 80s if you are my age, if older, you have a differing tale, but this was my viewpoint....
would never dream of angering my parents, its bad, its wrong, and I should never do it, on principle alone.
Then comes the Television and he tells me "Your parents are stupid luddites, you must rebel for no good reason, against their protective designs"
