I think this is the option with the best outcome for all our traitors. It certainly would be something that will be remembered for a long time.
No "cruel and unusual" punishment in the USA unless you are (((DS))) punishing innocent political opposition. You know, US Constitution and Bill of Rights stuff.

If our forefathers who founded this nation had played by the established rules of the throne, this country, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution would not have been possible. When watering the Tree of Liberty in a time of existential threat, there is no such thing as "cruel and unusual" punishments for traitors. And how is a pike cruel and unusual when hanging is acceptable?
Extreme times require extreme measures. Eye for an eye. Tit for tat.
Pike is a slow, agonizing death. Hanging, firing squad, electric chair, lethal injection are supposed to be very quick and virtually painless - though as of late the administration of lethal injections seem to be purposely fucked up in order to outrage society and support a no death penalty agenda.
