Why only 93%? Did they think 94% was being too greedy?

No lawmakers should ever be allowed to vote on their own pay. The people they are supposed to be serving should be the ones that decide that.

We should have the ability to easily fire them and have their pensions stripped away. Being a politician should be a job that nobody in their right mind would ever want.

I agree entirely. It is a duty to serve not a job to get yourself rich like they all treat it.

So? Being part of a state legislator makes a regular job nearly impossible, and $58k is peanuts.

Agree they deserve something around $100k, surprising that they had allowed themselves to fall so far down the pay scale. However, a 93% raise is notable and not usually in a good way.

No, you can make it work. Texas pays $7200 a year but they aren't full-time. You shouldn't be able to make a living as a politician, you need to have a real job like the rest of your constituents.
