Lars, like Ringo, has become the butt of drummer jokes by non-skin-beaters. Both have an unconventional unique approach and sound behind the kit. In the case of Ulrich, his early adoption of rapid fire double kick assault and polyrhythms set the bobbing base of the skull blueprint for thrash. Is he a douche? Sure. Can he thump? Yep.
