Doesn't matter. SNL could literally have an audience of 1 viewer and because Lorne Michaels is one of (((them))) and has influence at NBC, SNL will have a regular time slot and a guaranteed show for the rest of time.
NBC should have cleaned house back in 2005 and said "SNL's done because Tina Fey and the rest of you "writers" aren't funny"
But they didn't. SNL is forever.
