I have a cousin that has a few years left in the force before retiring. I could tell you a recent thing that happened and I don't think any of you would believe me, I laughed my bollocks off initially because I thought he was winding me up, but after an hour or so, I realized he was being honest, then it annoyed the fuck out of me. 2 things I will mention, there are many new people joining the force and they're as weird as the freaks you see all over the pages of poal at times. Some of these people at times(when they're late off shift) have had parents phone up complaining that their dinners are made and they're not home on time and should have finished their shifts by now(yes, parents). The most bizarre one he told me is that one of the new officers to his station had a pet snail, one that he took to work. Now, coppers being coppers with their unique sense of humor , one of them covered it in salt, obviously it died, a little bit warped but hey, the thing that was unreal is they started an investigation into who killed/murdered it, I'm honestly not pulling anyone's pudding. I couldn't believe it, there were many threats made through the chain of command about the incident, and yet, they can't show up to burglaries or some crime that they perceive to be soft crime. They are laughable.
