So, it's illegal to fight for your life in NYC now. Why am I not surprised...

I feel like this is satire, but that's just Poe's Law.

The story is absurd. Worker spots thief lurking, scoping the place out, and confronts him. Thief draws a gun... shoots the worker in the stomach, and then TRIES TO SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAD, missing by the grace of God, only taking the worker's ear off.*

Then, the absolute Chad of a worker grabbed the fucker, wrestled with him (with a bullet in his belly!), was able to disarm him and quickly shoot the thief-turned-attempted-murderer. It sounds like he shot the thief just enough to drop him and end the fight, then it was over. It's not like he executed the thief as he lay on the ground (which, in a sane world, should be totally acceptable- the guy just tried to shoot him in the fucking head).

This shit makes me angry. Worker it just trying to do his job, tries to run off a thief, ends up in a life-death struggle with the thief who brought the weapon and violence into the situation... and he miraculously pulls off some badass John Wick shit, surviving and laying the thief low... and he's about to have his fucking life ruined with an attempted murder charge. Unbelievable. The message the legal system sends with this: "Just die. Just let them kill you, never fight back, just lay down and let them do whatever you want- or else you'll end up facing the same fucking charges as your killer."

Fuck NYC.

I assume the adrenaline rush after almost being shot in the fucking head would justify grabbing his gun and shooting him back as fast as possible aka self defense? How could you expect the worker to know exactly where the retaliation bullets would end up? Not that it matters but this is some wild shit not sure I've ever seen a case like this. Godspeed to the worker just trying to get through the day, hope he recovers soon.

I'm hoping the DA is intentionally overcharging him, because any sane judge/jury would throw this out immediately with prejudice and he will walk totally free.

I wish we didn't live in such a kike world that he would need to be charged at all. I'm sure this is on video, I'm sure the incident is like... "Thief snooping around, worker comes out and tells him to beat it, thief refuses, worker approaches him, thief pulls gun and fires twice as the worker moves in and grabs him. Probably deflected the barrel from his face, preventing a headshot, then wrestled the gun away and popped the thief once or twice."

It doesn't sound like he fucking tried to execute the thief- he's alive. In a sane world, he'd be 100% justified in shooting that fucker in the back of the head after dropping him- he literally just tried to fucking murder him. It's so enraging just having to talk about this like there's any gray area. There is NONE here. The man defended his life from a ruthless murderer.

I went to NYC once as a young man to visit a childhood friend who was going to college there. I vowed to never go back and I haven't. My mother was from NYC and she was the most horrible person I have ever known...
