Everytime I read that sort of story, lists/database of people, surveillance systems to track wrong thinkers etc... It always reminds of what happened to the french police during wwII
For years the french police made lists, every citizen was on a list, sorted by religious belief, political affiliation, sex, origins, etc... And then one day the nazis took over and said "thank you that's going to be very handy...."
IMO it's only a matter of time before all that shit lands in "the wrong hands" (yes I know, it's already in the "wrong hands", I meant the other "wrong hands", everybody is somebody else's bad guy)
