LOL. I knew a guy that told me that his first job was roller skating back and forth in front of a computer, changing the tubes that had burned out. He carried two bags. One with new tubes and the other to hold the burnt out tubes. It was in the 80's when he told me about it. The job was back in the 50's.
I was going to say, those tube computers were a loooong time ago. If he still had one he could sell it for a good chunk of change. I know computer nerds would jizz all over having one of those.
Well let me explain a little better. This "computer" was three stories tall. Three younger guys were hired to do nothing else but change the tubes on their assigned "floor"! I Really don't think that a computer nerd would be able to fit it in their house! But with some of the nerds that hit it Big, you don't know! They might have houses big enough to hold it.
I used to work for a place that refurbished old computers and a lot of the people there would fight over older, obsolete shit. It was retarded.
We didn't get any of those from the fifties though.
