Interesting. Most power grids cannot handle even minor fluctuations in demand. The average household in the UK is using only 72% of the electricity they did in 2005 (statista.com) yet grids are still struggling to meet demand. During this same period, UK electricity production and capabilities have decreased 17% (statista.com). Because batteries only store energy, the energy normally produced by petroleum must then be produced by electric companies. They do not have this capacity. They currently cannot handle 10% of drivers switching to electric vehicles. This policy is disastrous.
