Your profit margin is acceptable with a $2 sammich, and by selling 2 for 4 you sell twice as manny sammiches. Sometimes you'll take a loss to maintain cashflow because it will strengthen your credit which you can then leverage for greater income potential, and make up the difference with a greater margin in the future. Remember that these franchises are in the real-estate business, which is often leveraged in the management of these poison factories.

In other words, sometimes you need liquidity to keep the lights on, and are willing to take a hit to get it, because you'll make it up later with other methods. Such as increasing automation, or whatever.

my first thought, or they need to get rid of the good stuff to make way for the bug meat, coming next week

That shit is real man and they are oh so slowly bringing it into the western world's food chain. Now bugs are eaten by "foodies" for the thrill but it's coming for the masses. the times they are a changin'

I imagine some manager was confused and someone said at $8 it's like the price is $4 for one so the 2 for $8 became 2 for $4 since they hire math majors as managers it seems at that location.

The types of people who eat two bk breakfast sandwiches in the morning are going to eat a lot more than that for breakfast. Sometimes you sell shit at a loss because you can make more money with other stuff. My guess is they don't want video customers who come in and eat one sandwich and leave, they want fatties who will eat two sandwiches, a large coffee, hash browns, etc. Basically it's fatty bait.
