The whole concept of reducing the use of energy and resources is ass-backwards and wrong. We need to use more energy. Energy supplies are endless, and there is no moral component in their use. It is not somehow "bad" or "evil" to use energy, which makes our lives better -- it is common sense. As for resources, we have barely scratched the surface (so to speak) of our planet's natural resources. And even should those run short (they won't) we have the entire solar system to mine and colonize.
The worst thing about the Green Movement is small thinking. It is filled with small, frightened, ignorant people thinking small, firghtened, ignorant thoughts. We need to let the future be the future. We need to embrace reality instead of trying to impose our limited fantasies upon it. The future is limitless, just like energy, just like natural resources, and it is there for our delight.
I am cutting and pasting this. I might include it in a future speech.
>The worst thing about the Green Movement is small thinking.
True. Small thinking combined to large scale centralized programs. A stupid ass wind turbine every mile, over the entire country, to replace the entire park of nuclear power plants... And it doesn't even provide a tenth of the required output, and then you have that idea about candles...
