I ran cross country in high school, mostly to get out of doing the basic P.E. class, so I wasn't really competitive. Long story short, in my last year I was too old for the "frosh-soph" team and not good enough to warrant even being promoted to junior varsity, so they let me run with the girls JV team.
It was fucking awesome.
