In fear of such happening in the UK, I've alresdy massively stocked up on grains, pastas, dried beans, nutrition powders and sauces.
Though my sauce stock was running low around Christmas, I've been able to restock with both Indian and Chinese sauces going on offer since, and have a full cupboard again, plus 3 sacks of nutrition powder.
If you avoid looking for fresh produce during such shortages, you can still find plenty of food.
I use frozen veg and tinned fruit too, along with bottles of lemon juice and various purees for fruit and veg intake (tomato, chiili, garlic and ginger purees). Mainly because fresh veg and fruit doesn't last long enough and I don't like shopping every week.
