Had some shit to take care of today and had some time on my hands after. So I decided to go to the drug store today to get some essentials. I wore my paintball half mask, like I had always done in the past. It's basically a coarse-ish wire mesh.

Load up my cart with lots of shit, so it would be a while before I'd have to do this again, it's so damn stressful.

At the cash register, I proceed to load my shit onto the conveyor when, out of the corner of my eye, I notice the guy ahead of me looking at me weird. Make no eye contact. After half of my stuff is loaded up, I notice him whispering something to the chick at the register. Can't make out what he's saying but I hear her response: "...carnival mask, but I wasn't going to say anything. If I would have seen him come in, I would have told him." Five seconds later, what I think is the franchise owner comes up to me. She asks me if that is an FFP2 mask, I'm wearing.

I lie, "I can't wear one, but I wear this, so I don't get shit." "Well, we require customers to wear an FFP2 mask."

I take out my phone, take a pic of the stuff on the conveyor and one of the rest still in the cart. "What are you doing?"

I walk out while saying "Amazon.de".

It's no use arguing with these zombies, it'll just raise my blood pressure even more and shorten my life. Just the first time, I've directly witnessed some asshole tattle on me. Why can't these fuckers just mind their own business and leave other people alone?

I don't feel like this little story was some kind of defiant deed. I just had to get it off my chest. I'd much rather have burnt down the store with everyone in it, but its not worth the aggravation.

And no, I didn't order my crap on Amazon, but I did order it somewhere else on line. Fuck 'em.

Also, here in Germany at least, there's laws against insulting someone and I'd have to deal with the cops.

I wouldn't risk that for such little reward in a setting where I am very easily identified, for example by anyone seeing my license plate, when leaving the parking space. It's a small lot, holds about 25 vehicles. Takes nothing but some do-gooder to snap a picture and forward it to the po-lice.

You'll spend weeks of your lifetime dealing with cops, then you'll end up paying a fine. I've dealt with this exact scenario before. Last time I only got a stern warning form the attorney of the state and I'm ever since forbidden to carry a baseball bat in the trunk of my car.

Jeezus H, forbidden to carry a baseball bat in your trunk. Where I live carrying a gun in your pocket is casual attire. I can't imagine living under such circumstances. That's like walking around nekkid.
