this could have HUGE ramifications. if this was like 3 weeks ago id think its meh whatever. now that afganistan has basically completely fallen this is china/russia signaling the end of western exceptionalism. i would be shocked if they all didnt work together, albeit i have no idea where the alliances are drawn. if the US and Europe decide to focus on internal issues china can get taiwan probably the biggest shame on china and russia can expand its influence into all facets of the west. look how putin is currently anti vax mandate, that creates sympathy with a potentially hostile regime. who knows how the media will spin the taliban in the future the US needs rare earth metal which is estimated at around i believe it was 1 or 2 trillion the afgans have in raw resources. if the US goes green then they become dependent on the extremely rare resources which they no longer control. think about how your balls are now in a vice you now either provide energy to your people at the expense of a foreign country owning you or you pull out and enter the dark ages hopefully temporarily. sorry rant over but its not necessarily a small thing
edit: what are your thoughts on this
