At least 90% of the people I encounter on a regular basis are they type that would steal Halloween candy from a kid if they thought they wouldn't get caught. I've always thought that the best way to build an air tight workplace would be to only test for two things: honesty and intelligence. Everything else that you want and need in a team follows from those things. I just haven't come up with a good way to see if someone's honest even when they think there's no possibility of getting caught. Some of the slimiest crooked scum I ever had the privilege of knowing were at church. A couple of them from my grandfather's church swindled him out of his life savings when he began developing Alzheimer's. By the time we discovered it we had to move him out of his house and sell it just to cover the debt those crooks had created. Being religious or going to church doesn't make you honest or imbue you with integrity any more than walking into a garage makes you a car.
