Both sites disable your upvoting if you go negative. Both sites have comment/post timers. voat.xyz is far stricter. Both sites have Troll owners. (System has said he usto troll some board.) Both have 2 owners. AOU and PMYB2 vs System and HoneyBuns(something like that). Both sites have collapsed text. Both sites you can say nigger/kike and you can on reddit as well just not all subs. Both sites sites refuse to write down rules and are feelings based just like youtube/twitter/reddit. Both sites have global unwritten rules that even by reddit standards are super strict. Both sites use global bans to enforce sub bans.
Both sites do not let their users actually have a sub. They allow you to make one and moderate it but go above and beyond their own global rules. What I mean by that is say I wanted a sub talking about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers(no special meaning). I like the White Power ranger and some one else likes the Yellow Power Ranger. The owner hates the Yellow one so he bans the user and deletes their comment and the post. They effectively ruined the Might Morphine Power Ranger sub yet both refuse to put No Yellow Power Rangers lovers in site rules.

Differences. Badges and trophies. I do like that voat.xyz allows you to put a post in a sub and not on /all. Bypassing the most active and vocal group. The feature has become useless because of the timer and their audience are puritanical. If I posted something negative about Hitler I would be downvoted in the extreme on voat.xyz effectively disabling my account. Although this post will get moved to the shitposts section. My account would be deleted on voat.xyz

Censorship on both. I have read about accounts being shadow banned on both. What I mean by that is that the account password is changed on the user and no announcement. Poal suppresses, Voat.xyz straight out prevents one from having an opinion.

I am thinking of starting a forum review sites. That is why I have interests in these things. Poal leaves a lot to be desired but is hands down the "free'er" platform. I do find the say what you want misleading though.

I have been thinking about this for awhile. I started working on a standardized format. I have had like 30 some revisions of it because things I did not think of keep coming up. I don't wanna review 30 sites then go back and rewrite/format it all.

Try using the sub PoalAmTalkRadio...it's for longer conversations and indepth analysis type stuff..you'll get more acknowledgement on my sub...

That is wishful thinking. This has a strong community but it allows little for free expression of different views. My thoughts on that is the site is treated as one large community and not unique sub communities. What I say in PoalAmTalkRadio could get me a shit poster bad that limits my interactions with other users because I offended the owners. I completely respect a site that has rules and abides by the site rules. Not every site needs to be a pornwebsite/gayrights/watchhumans die.

Boone tried that once. https://poal.co/s/TellAOU/314786

You do not create a free speech site if you want to be told nice things. If anything you will be abused online, do it for the love of freedom.
