Recently had a socially distanced lunch with my coworkers. Upper management was involved so I had to take precautions with speaking my mind, it would be a poor career choice to lose my job due to saying something. Now I have outspokenly told management that I will not get the vaccine. This is a bit of a rant but it got me fired up with how trusting of government and just a general lack of awareness of society people are. Almost everyone discussed getting the vaccine and having things get back to normal. So I had to sit there and listen to all these people talk about how great it would be to go eat out and do normal things again etc. **But I just couldn't understand why can't you do it now?** I just can't fathom why people put up with all the restrictions in their lives when some of the restrictions literally exist to not have restrictions. The whole point of wearing a mask is so that it prevents spreading or getting infected. So why would that prevent people from going to the movies? If you're not visiting your parents or any high risk individuals, then you really have no risk to live a normal life. Why would the wuflu stop you from going out, or vice versa from visiting your parents? If all the things they say you should do to prevent wuflu, aren't preventing wuflu why do them, or vice versa, if you do all the things, why not live your life? The double think is ingrained in my coworkers. And these are educated intelligent people that usually have enough sense to discern and discuss topics. Society in general relies far to much on "experts" and will not consider evidence themselves. And they will sit and talk about how inefficient and poorly managed government is, but somehow the CDC gets removed from that criticism... Why is something that is true for the whole not true for a part? Also what really pissed me off is your health is your responsibility. If you don't like what I do with my health, too bad! Take a hike, I'm not responsible for you or for society.
