Yeah, Lithium mining is still highly destructive. Regardless, lots of copper is needed for an electric car as well, motors and battery conductors are all copper wound.

In fairness, gas cars are full of copper too. Starter motors and alternators all need copper windings.

I agree. Fair point. But that's a battery technology and not necessarily an electric vehicle technology.

That said, lithium batteries are ubiquitous with modern portable technology. Most all modern battery efforts are to move past lithium technology.
