My hybrid gets ~50 mpg and it's fucking awesome.
Did I get it to save the planet, or whatever? Fuck no. I just enjoy only having to gas up once a month.

Thats what makes those more practical than electric right now. You have to own a home or have a dedicated parking space with charger to keep refueling batteries to avoid the inevitable 1 hour to 75% charge
