Wonder why it took them 45 years to get "offended"?

This. I used to work with a "Native American" girl, but she would just say she was a [tribe name] Indian. Only white people and gender studies majors say Native American with a straight face. If you've ever seen a purchase order from a tribe, most of them say [Name] Indian Tribe.
