This is no different than the national guard preventing people from taking unsellable fruit and vegetables that were dumped in huge mounds in California during the depression. My father lived there at the time (he was born in 1912, btw).

The fallout of our rejection of personal accountability. If someone consumes that discarded and "unsecured" food, gets sick, and sues, they'll get way more traction than they should. Grocery stores throw away a mind-boggling amount of just-expired food and don't let anyone touch it for liability reasons.

dont you have to produce a docket that says you bought it from that store? No docket = no responsibility.
