I'm not too up to speed on Dodges/Chryslers/Plymouths after ~1973 and didn't follow them closely. The Volare was a great car (with a slant 6).

The Slant-6 was a good engine, but the F body platform was way too heavy. I had a Aspen (Dodge version of the Volare) with a 318, and it was just enough to make the car move.

The slant 6 was the best Volare, for my gf at the time anyway, for a college commuter. It had enough power and got good gas mileage. The v8 versions were nothing to brag about as muscle cars, the old Valiants were better. But, in their day I thought the Volare was a good looking car. I had a hot blue eyed blonde friend in town ~1979 that drove a dark metallic blue Volare with white vinyl top and white interior. It was like Farrah Fawcett pulling up with a big smile every time. I never did get a chance to date her.

Yeah, that was "Ensign Blue Poly" - probably the best color out of all of them.
