I lived there for a year 5 years ago. All the locals said 115* for over a week straight was normal in the summer. Has been for decades.

I've been in Tempe since 2015. The weather hasn't changed. It gets stupid hot in the summer. My first summer here my thermometer outside on my balcony said 123F. So far, that's been my personal "high" but everyone I talk to says it's all perfectly normal.

124 in my car one day around 1pm when I drove off of a blacktop.
But 119 was my highest on the shaded patio thermometer.
Probably been that way for centuries.
