Made possibly only by importing the 3rd world people with those conditions without any prior vetting or examination. A plague from hundreds of years ago is about to be reborn in the west.

Just in time to bolster the western pharma industry, right on the eve of a "cold" world war. Looks like we are headed to the "Spanish flu era" just with modern tech.
