There's an easier way.

Past atrocities have made it a non issue. There are 30 million cows in the US. Settlers killed 60 million buffalo. As far as the biosphere is concerned, we're short a lot of bovine methane.

It all makes sense. They fund the science, change the law based on the phony science, then enrich themselves after their companies are the only ones that can profit off the change.
