The "science" that lessens the quality of life for us has been led astray by forces other than the need to understand the universe. The current prevailing "science" has been corrupted predominantly by greed.
And power / control over others.
Science is the study of the creation of God since everything comes from God in the end including our brains that could perform scientific studies, without which there would be no science. And, God is outside the universe he created, so he obviously be definition cannot be proved or disproved by science (only idiots who are ironically not scientists at all no matter how many Phds they rack up think otherwise). As such, any science that is not based on the correct basic assumption of God creating the universe is not true science, yet Satanic science encouraged subtly by Satan (God warned us about Satan's invisible influence upon us, which also cannot be detected by science) to serve pride (arrogance), lust, greed, or any other number of sins.
True science is always there to benefit society as a whole, not just a few greedy proud conceited people who dish out fake pity upon "less privileged" people while oxymoronically calling them "privileged".

If I understand your first paragraph correctly, no human can either prove or disprove the existence of God, and any attempt to do so is evil. Is that an accurate summation?
