I've even done charity through my wife's protestant church. I truly am the lazy agnostic.

MAJOR EDIT: I screwed up my language. When I said “orthodoxy” I was intending to mean everything from Constantine forward.

Constantine was a pagan until his deathbed.

Catholicism (and later orthodoxy) was the bastardization of the faith. Protestantism was the bastardization of the bastardization. Evangelicalism was the retarded offspring of Protestantism’s bastardization.

Man’s approach to God has been allowed via different avenues at different times unless we’re still sacrificing oxen somewhere that I’m not aware of. Scofield and his ilk took this legitimate concept of differing permissive avenues from God and used it to promote Zionism because “muh God’s Chosen.”

Stephen at his stoning said it clearly: Christ was standing in judgment over Israel. It doesn’t mean gone forever, but it does mean they’re cut off until he grafts them back on. No more specialness.

Titus was doing God’s work when he destroyed the Temple in AD 70, whether he knew it or not. No Temple genealogies means no legitimate lineage to Jacob which means no legitimate Israel until God says so supernaturally.

The Church isn’t “Israel” and shouldn’t want to be. Israel was a nasty mess from the start and God said so in Moses’s final address. The Church is better than Israel because our birthright is in Heaven—not in our blood, but Christ’s.

Read the Septuagint and original Greek manuscripts for proper deep study. Not translations of any kind. English translations are fine for daily drivers to get the gist, but don’t build doctrines on them.

Pastors should be ashamed if they don’t exegete every word in the Greek for themselves.

The Masoretic texts are to the original Hebrew inspired Old Testament text what the New World Translation (Jehovah’s Witnesses) is to the New Testament. You can still get the truth, but it’s intentionally obscured.

I don’t know of anything positive to say about the Scofield commentaries. Here are some links I had lying around:

The Zionist-Created Scofield 'Bible' The Source Of The Problem In The Mideast - Part 2 Why Judeo-Christians Support War https://rense.com/general60/zcre.htm The scheme was to alter the Christian view of Zionism by creating and promoting a pro-Zionist subculture within Christianity. Scofield's role was to re-write the King James Version of the Bible by inserting Zionist-friendly notes in the margins, between verses and chapters, and on the bottoms of the pages. The Oxford University Press used Scofield, a pastor by then, as the Editor, probably because it needed such as man for a front. The revised bible was called the Scofield Reference Bible, and with limitless advertising and promotion, it became a best-selling "bible" in America and has remained so for 90 years.
The Scofield Reference Bible was not to be just another translation, subverting minor passages a little at a time. No, Scofield produced a revolutionary book that radically changed the context of the King James Version. It was designed to create a subculture around a new worship icon, the modern State of Israel, a state that did not yet exist, but which was already on the drawing boards of the committed, well-funded authors of World Zionism.
The Scofield Reference Bible and its several clones is all but worshiped in the ranks of celebrity Christians, beginning with the first media icon, evangelist Billy Graham. Of particular importance to the Zionist penetration of American Christian churches has been the fast growth of national bible study organizations, such as Bible Study Fellowship and Precept Ministries. These draw millions of students from not only evangelical fundamentalist churches, but also from Catholic and mainline Protestant churches and non-church contacts. These invariably teach forms of "dispensationalism," which draw their theory, to various degrees, from the notes in the Oxford Bible.

Darby Plants the Seeds
Before examining Scofield’s life, we need to understand John Nelson Darby, the principle figure from whom Scofield borrowed his biblical analysis. Darby was a Satanist, Freemason, and agent of the Rothschild-owned British East India Company. Darby’s family owned Leap Castle, renowned as the most sinister and occultic castle in Ireland’s history. Darby became a leader of a Christian sect called the Plymouth Brethren. He is generally credited with originating the “Secret Rapture” doctrine and made several trips to America to spread his “vaccine” of heresies.
Darby used many terms in common with occult Theosophists: he referred to Jesus as “the coming one” (the term New Agers use for the Antichrist); referred to God as the “architect” (same phrase employed by Freemasons, meaning “God” for the uninitiated, but “Lucifer” to true initiates); and many other occult phrases. Darby even penned his own satanic version of the Bible. The Illuminati always knew they could not perform a wholesale transformation of the Bible, because it would be recognized and rejected. Therefore, the approach through the centuries has been to whittle it away: a word here, a phrase there—the universal strategy of boiling the frog.
Darby slyly introduced satanic wording into the biblical text. For example, in the King James rendering of John 6:69, Peter told Jesus: “And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.” Darby rendered this: “And we have believed and known that thou art the holy one of God.” In the King James, “Holy one of God” is a title for Jesus used only by demons. Most protestants do not know as much about history as the roman catholic, let alone the Orthodox Christian.

But more about scripture.

So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter.

While obviously testing all things by scripture.

The scofield is soft of the pharisees in the Gospel, and since this reference bible uses the masoretic, it is soft on Prophecy. The most damning thing are the footnotes encouraging dispensationalism with false zionist israel, emphasizing the apocalypse, and creating a pro-zionist link between the two. These footnotes would be distilled into theology courses, and now you have a new false priesthood outside of Christ and his Church.
