MAJOR EDIT: I screwed up my language. When I said “orthodoxy” I was intending to mean everything from Constantine forward.
Constantine was a pagan until his deathbed.
Catholicism (and later orthodoxy) was the bastardization of the faith. Protestantism was the bastardization of the bastardization. Evangelicalism was the retarded offspring of Protestantism’s bastardization.
Man’s approach to God has been allowed via different avenues at different times unless we’re still sacrificing oxen somewhere that I’m not aware of. Scofield and his ilk took this legitimate concept of differing permissive avenues from God and used it to promote Zionism because “muh God’s Chosen.”
Stephen at his stoning said it clearly: Christ was standing in judgment over Israel. It doesn’t mean gone forever, but it does mean they’re cut off until he grafts them back on. No more specialness.
Titus was doing God’s work when he destroyed the Temple in AD 70, whether he knew it or not. No Temple genealogies means no legitimate lineage to Jacob which means no legitimate Israel until God says so supernaturally.
The Church isn’t “Israel” and shouldn’t want to be. Israel was a nasty mess from the start and God said so in Moses’s final address. The Church is better than Israel because our birthright is in Heaven—not in our blood, but Christ’s.
Read the Septuagint and original Greek manuscripts for proper deep study. Not translations of any kind. English translations are fine for daily drivers to get the gist, but don’t build doctrines on them.
Pastors should be ashamed if they don’t exegete every word in the Greek for themselves.
The Masoretic texts are to the original Hebrew inspired Old Testament text what the New World Translation (Jehovah’s Witnesses) is to the New Testament. You can still get the truth, but it’s intentionally obscured.
