Archbishop Anastasius is THE reason why Albania is no longer a Muslim majority country. He was already old when he was sent Albania and had previously served as a bishop in Kenya for some time. He was getting ready to retire when he was called to begin a new mission in the country. He had literally nothing to work with when he started; no finances, no parishes, nothing. A total void awaited him and over the span of 30+ years he filled it with the light of Christ. He created an entire church with parishes, priests, bishops, synods, everything. Truly, he was an apostle of the modern age and whoever proceeds him will have some massive shoes to fill. Say a prayer for him tonight and may his memory be eternal.
