Bet you didn’t know croissants are a Christian dessert. After the Ottoman Turks were beaten back from the gates of Vienna the crescent shaped pastry was created to mimic the Islamic crescent moon. Eating croissants symbolizes taking a bite out of Islam and devouring the Turks.
