I often try to pray for people I don't like, because I have been told this in important, and it makes sense, those who spread misery and pain often suffering in ways that are difficult for normal people like us to imagine. Why should this not apply to the Devil/Satan?

Because if the devil found his way back to the light and love of God, religion would be out of business.
