This isn't accurate at all and flies directly in the face of the salvation story.
First, God loves ALL of his creation.
John 1:3, "All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made."
Genesis 1:31, "And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. "
He also has an intimate knowledge of every person created:
Jeremiah 1:5 states, "“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Psalm 139: 13-15 "You brought my inner parts into being; You wove me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise you, for You made me with fear and wonder; marvelous are Your works, and You know me completely. 15 My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and intricately put together in the lowest parts of the earth.. 16 Your eyes saw me unformed, yet in Your book all my days were written, before any of them came into being."
1 John 31, "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! "
We are loved from the beginning. What separates us is our own free will.
Galatians 5:13, "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love."
Joshua 24: 15, "But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve"
Mark 8:34, "Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me."
Revelation 3:20, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
Again the idea of our actions separating us from God's love is emphasized with this:
Isaiah 59:2, "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear."
So I have to 1000% disagree with this article.
Also, aside from everything mentioned, Augustine's book "City of God" which was fundamental to establishing much of Christian doctrine (written in 426) predates ALL of the Christian philosophers mentioned in this article and reaffirms God's love extends to everyone and is only lost through sin. That God loves everyone is in no way "modern" thought, it is the crux of our faith. So seriously, BTFO with your shitty post modern drivel.
"And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness." Malachi 1:3
"The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth." Psalm 11:5
"The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity." Psalm 5:5
How do you explain those?
Your verses are all over the place. Having intimate knowledge of somebody is not to love them so I'm not sure why you're citing verses about the womb.
First, God loves ALL of his creation.
Interesting, show me one verse that supports this. Does God also love Satan and demons? Yes, he said creation was good when he made it, but he gave us free will to corrupt it and do evil.
I could say a burrito is good but that doesn't mean I love it. And what is love anyway?
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13
Would you lay down your life for a burrito? Did Jesus die on the cross for the mountains and birds? No that's absurd:
"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" Matthew 6:26
Who does God love? The righteous:
"The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness." Proverbs 15:9
For God to love everybody all the time, there would have to be no wicked people in the world. We know that isn't the case. Why would God even bother to tell us who he loves if he loves everyone?
I can't think of anywhere in the bible where God says he loves the whole world. But there are many places where he tells about his love for his people Israel.
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field." Matthew 13:44
God loved his people so much that he bought the whole world with the blood of his son, just so he could redeem his people Israel, his treasure who he loved. Not because he loved the entire world. Still, salvation is offered to all who would accept it. Those who do, become children of God, the seed of Abraham:
"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:29
"And [Jesus] answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother." Mark 3:33-35
And what is the "will of God"?
"Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." John 6:28-29
And to those who do not accept the gift, who are not children of God?
"In the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them." Matthew 13:30
They will recieve the fullness of God's wrath and be thrown into a pit of fire. If that isn't hate, I don't know what is.
