I learned of the Nephilim many years ago. My first exposure was in a work of science fiction written by a Christian author, surprisingly. Most pastors won’t touch the subject.
The understanding I’ve acquired over the years is this. Please note this is largely speculative:
Fallen angels bred human women, presumably by traditional means, although some speculate that it may have been advanced technology or even possession of human males. Whichever way, the Greek and Egyptian pantheons click into place quickly when viewed through the lens of Genesis 6.
Humans were genetically superior at Creation. As such, they were heartier as well as capable of breeding with fallen angels to produce these giant monstrosities.
As time wore on, particularly after the Flood, the ability to successfully intermix with the fallen greatly reduced as the population was reset to a single family, necessitating cousin incest among a drastically limited population. This was part of God’s purpose for the Flood.
Babel was a major site of efforts to renew the nephilim program. Global cooperation, made possible by universal language, and knowledge of the science of the ancients, who practiced the antediluvian interbreeding program, were put to work in order to produce any army of these who would “challenge” God. God, seeing their efforts, smashed the program by snarling the languages.
Sodom and Gomorrah practiced similar efforts. Hence their demand for the “two strangers” visiting Lot. Later, Canaan had their own programs, necessitating total genocide as a temporarily God-fearing Israel invaded the land and did His bidding to eradicate the abominations. The last mentions of such programs are a few centuries later, such as Goliath of Gath.
The size of these nephilim seemed to dwindle with time. Ranging from close to 30 feet before the Flood down to just under 10 by the time of Goliath.
My research has lead me to believe the first sin was Satan seducing Eve. She then went and seduced Adam. Got pregnant by both at the same time. This would make Cain the first nephilim. The seed of the serpent. The first Gen nephilim were born normal sized to normal women. They just never stopped growing. Some hybrids don't have a growth suppression hormone so continuously grow through their life. This causes them to have voracious appetites. This would be what the book of Enoch speaks of. The first generation nephilim were literally titans. As tall as mountains. You can find petrified remains if you knows where to look. I need to compile the images I've gathered over there last few years and make a post, but I do tend to be a lazy nigger who gets distracted easily. I think one of the reasons the nephilim blooded stopped growing as tall is because lifespans were shortened so their growing time is shortened. The first generation nephilim only lived 500 years or so before they destroyed each other. This was the clash of the Titans written about in Greek mythology. It's possible they grew smaller with time also because of more dilution in their blood. Due to the fallen angels sharing technology mankind began manipulating genes once the first generation nephilim died off. I am coming to believe that this may be why we have blood types. O- was the original blood. All other blood types are just modifications of O-. This is also why O- is the universal donor. When you think logically it makes sense. Somewhere mankind added a monkey enzyme into their blood. This is the rhesus factor.
When the Bible says nimrod became a giant it's my belief that he either found or was given a hypodermic needle (possibly by his father Orr mother). This is a possibility for the Giants making it through the flood. It could have been due to the wives of the sons. It could be that more than one boat made it through the flood. We really don't know so my theory simply makes more sense to me.
