A subject that came up with my friend, and she was stating one can lose their salvation. I can think you can lose grace with God if you don't adhere to Biblical ways, however, this does not mean you lose your salvation. It also makes me question if she cherry picks the Bible, because the Bible states salvation is through Jesus Christ, it's a free gift, all those who accept Jesus Christ as lord and savior will be saved, and that salvation and good works compliment each other. However, I could not find a single quote anywhere in the Bible that says one can lose their salvation. Not even the calvinists believe that, and they're one of the more hardcore denominations I can think of

Yeah, that's exactly right. We come to Christ for salvation as empty beggars, receiving everything from Him as free grace.

Now this raises a question, how can one be a Christian who believe in the Bible, and completely miss this blatantly obvious, core pillar of Christianity?

Most people who claim to be Christians never actually read the Bible and rely on what they are told by others.

Well it's possible that some of the Lord's people are inadvertently and temporarily ignorant of doctrine and teaching, even of foundational stuff as you say, but after many years, in my experience, the truly saved ones always come out of their ignorance and just keep growing.

So, yeah I don't believe anyone can be long in the Lord (so to speak) and still be stuck in error of this degree.
