Not really. Incentivizing marriage, families, and child birth is definitely admirable, but is functionally just wealth redistribution. Redirecting tax revenue taken from the financially productive to be redistributed to those who are not is welfare. Welfare by any other name is still the same and ALL western nations have plenty of welfare already. The problem with welfare is that it only grows the nations debt, especially when expended upon people who have no pressure to pursue productive skills and educations. To be blunt, most advanced western nations are already very experienced with welfare and carrying around immense amounts of debt.

Yeah, you bring up a good point.

Don't get me wrong, I find what Orban's done as admirable and totally agree that social welfare programs shouldn't be restricted to unwed single mother sluts with children. If necessary, it should be designed to serve them, but they should prioritize serving and supporting families not dysfunctional households.

Orban's biggest, and most dangerous, challenge will be changing the usual habits of most western politicians by taking steps to develop legislation that enables the government to actively tackle their debt problem while they use the Euro while developing a debt repayment strategy that allows them to return to the Hungarian forint currency they used previously.
