I understand the importance of easter in terms of jesus, and even there i've heard conflicting ideas in that jesus was not resurrected on easter, or that he was, or that his friend died on the cross. however, how did the easter bunny and the eggs come into play?

The same as Santa Claus, Christmas trees, gift exchange is related to the birth of Christ. It's always amazed me how (((those people))) who don't celebrate either Christmas or Easter have perverted the meaning and are the ones profiting from it in a big way, while the so called Christians just play right along.
