42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. - Luke 1:42-44 (KJV)
The Christmas Story continues. The Holy Ghost is the one that told Elisabeth that Mary was not only pregnant, but would give birth to Jesus. Mary was certainly blessed to be the mother of Jesus and Jesus was certainly blessed to be the Son of God. This was a powerful confirmation to Mary, that the angel had told her the truth about Jesus being her son, and the Son of God.
Notice that Elisabeth called Mary’s son, her Lord, so she had revelation that Mary’s son would be the Messiah that God had promised. Elisabeth wondered why Mary would come see her, and that shows that she didn’t expect the visit.
Elisabeth say’s that the baby, John, leaped in her womb when Mary greeted them and that was from the joy that the baby had. At six month’s the baby John not only could leap in the womb, but also could express joy, an emotion. Again, this shows that at six month’s an unborn baby can express joy, and again shows that it is not just a fetus, but a living human being. It is a travesty that our society has aborted millions of babies, calling it women’s choice, when God shows that they are human beings, and He has plans for them when they are first conceived. Praise God that He forgives those that have had an abortion, but it sure is something that we need to quit doing, as it is not ordained by God, but is a work of the devil (John 10:10). Thank you Lord for all your directions in life.
