November 25

19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. - James 5:19-20 (KJV)

If one believer should see another stray from the truth of God’s Word, then we are to try and bring them back to the truth. The only trouble is that so many religious believers, trying to earn self-righteousness by their works, just believe in the Old Testament of the bible, and ignore the New Covenant that Jesus has brought to us. They don’t let what the bible says, get in the way of their traditions, and how they have been taught in church, and that makes it very hard to get them to understand the truth of God’s Word. Jesus said that the traditions of man would make the Word of none effect (Mark 7:13), but we need to let God be true, and every man a liar (Romans 3:4).

If you can bring a believer out of the deception of religion, then you have saved his soul from destruction. This verse points out that you can stray from the truth of God’s Word, and it can cause you to reap the death that the devil wants to put on you (John 10:10), as he comes to destroy you. It is amazing how many Christians don’t even know what the bible says, as they don’t read it themselves and only go by what a preacher tells them. That is so very dangerous, as there are a lot of preachers that are not even born again, and are not teaching the truth. Satan loves for you to believe in what you hear, and not in the bible, as that is how he can deceive you. Jesus said that you shall be taught by God through the Holy Spirit (John 6:45), if you are born again and will read the bible, and it works. Praise God for our Teacher, the Holy Spirit.

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”

1 John 2:1-6 KJV
