15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; - 1 Tim 6:15 (KJV)
This is saying that God, in a time that He decides, shall show Jesus is the true Potentate (Ruler over all), and King of kings (King of all), and Lord of lords (Highest in the Spiritual Kingdoms). It was said in other scriptures that only the Father knows when Jesus will come again (Mark 13:32), and we will not be able to know in advance of Jesus coming. Jesus is referred to as “King of kings”, and “Lord of lords”, elsewhere in scripture (Revelation 17:14), and He is certainly that.
Over the years there have been a number of people, who claim to be prophets, that have predicted the date that Jesus will return, but it can not be predicted by man. God has reserved the right to determine the exact date and time for Jesus to return (Acts 1:7). If you hear someone claim to have figured out the date and time of His return, you can be sure they are wrong, and know that they are false prophets. Why do we humans, try to figure out things that the bible tells us we can’t know ahead of time? It seems that man believes that they are more intelligent than the one that created us, as we mess with the food supply all the time, to make it better, when we only make it worse. Only in recent times have we begun to realize that the original creations that God made were just what man needed to stay healthy. The American Indians had more knowledge of natural remedies, than all of modern medicine – God can not be improved on, and neither can anything He has created. Praise God that we haven’t completely killed ourselves yet, by messing with nature.
